17 - 31 August 2019 Bernhard & Silvia, Germany Hallo Alison und Alex, vielen Dank für den wunderbaren Aufenthalt bei Euch. Wir haben den Garten, die Terrasse und den Pool sehr genossen. Das ganze Anwesen ist in einem tadellosen Zustand. Man merkt die Liebe und Mühen, die Ihr in dieses kleine Paradies gesteckt habt. Bettwäsche, Handtücher und Pooltücher - alles mit dabei und auch noch mit Wechsel nach einer Woche - wir können englische Vermieter in Frankreich nur empfehlen. Nochmals vielen Dank für die unkomplizierte Hilfe am ersten Abend, als wir ohne Verpflegung spät eingetroffen sind. Wenn wir etwas gebraucht haben wart Ihr da, ansonsten hat man von Euch nichts bemerkt. In besonderer Erinnerung wird uns auch der gemeinsame Abend bleiben, den wir mit einem Glas Wein zum Sonnenuntergang spontan eingeläutet hatten. Nochmals vielen Dank für unseren schönen Urlaub und hoffentlich sehen wir uns wieder einmal im Perigord.

Exactly as described online, wonderful gite, wonderful location, peace and quiet but not too far away from lots of busy towns. Highly recommend a stay here. Hosts Alex and Alison were delightful and made us feel right at home and always on call for advice on what to do and where to go. Aug 2019 Daniel & Jo One of our best family holidays ever. Alison and Alex were impeccable hosts with excellent local knowledge, we had great neighbours and beautiful weather. The pool and hot tub are brilliant, especially with the additional peace of mind of the cover and the gated area - great if you have small children who can't yet swim. Our children (aged 7 and 3) also absolutely LOVED running around the large garden. Cendrieux is good location for exploring the Dordogne. We'd particularly recommend the Tuesday market at Le Bugue, and the Saturday night market at Audrix. We also enjoyed swimming in the lake at 'Parc de Loisirs de Neufont' (about 20 mins drive away). We miss our evenings on the terrace watching the spectacular sunsets. We'd definitely stay with Alex and Alison again. Review left on Google Maps Aug 2019

June 2019 An ideal location, and fantastic gite for our summer holiday. The gite is very comfortable and is decked out with everything you need on holiday, with the AC units especially welcome given our stay coincided with a European wide heatwave. Alison and Alex were wonderful and knowledgeable hosts which made planning activities easy. Their useful advice and insights elevated the enjoyment of our stay as their recommendations facilitated some great meals, wonderful excursions, not too mention a few bottles great local wines direct from the vineyard. We can't recommend this place highly enough.

June 2019 Cendrieux is a good place to explore the Perigord. Alison and Alex are the perfect hosts at this romantic estate, just like a little British garden. And the gite with the kitchen, where everything is thought of. Wonderful! If you try the hot tub (maybe with a glass of the marvelous French wine, then you know what is meant, when we say, "Living like God in France!".

Aug 2018 Visit to the Dordogne Our French holiday was wonderful, thanks in every respect to Alex & Alison. We stayed in a lovely gite, that had everything we could hope for and more. Alison was so generous with her time and talked us through places we might like to visit whilst there. She was so,proud of her piece of haven and made places & activities sound that good........we did it all. Great to come back for a nice dip in the pool and the jacuzzi. July 2018 Lovely gite in excellent location This gite has been the ideal place to spend our two weeks holiday. It is situated on the outskirts of a village, within walking distance of a well stocked shop, (walking every morning to pick up our croissants was a great start to our day). There is lots to do and see in the surrounding area, and all within easy reach, the roads were very quiet and even cycling was a joy along the country lanes. Alex and Alison were excellent hosts, and full of local knowledge. Their restaurant recommendations were really good, and Chez Julien in Paunat was definitely our favourite. With the pool and hot tub, plus the quiet of the countryside setting, and everything we needed in the gite, there wasn't really anything else we could have asked for in a holiday destination.

May 2018 Wunderbares Erlebnis Hier in der Dordogne lässt es sich wunderbar aushalten! Die Landschaft ist sanft, grün und fruchtbar. Überall gibt es herrliche Märkte mit noch herrlicheren Lebensmitteln, Gemüsse, Gänse- und Entenleber, Käse, Wein. Wie im Paradies. Dazu kommt der Aufenthalt bei Allison und Alex in diesem bezaubernden Garten, dem schönen Pool, dem erholsamen Whirlpool (beides leider zu wenig genutzt). In der Gite fehlt einem nichts, gemütlich, sauber und komfortabel. Sehr zu empfehlen!!

October 2017 A very comfortable gite with all facilities. This is a lovely place to stay and relax in wonderful surroundings. Lovely large garden with superb pool and hot tub, and views over country side. You are in the country, but not too far away to explore all the region has to offer. We would recommend and owners Alison and Alex are discreet, but always there if you need them.

September 2017 Le Monjat, a pearl in Cendrieux France My wife and I have just returned from two weeks in this exceptional two bedroomed Gite 'Le Monjat'. The Gite and it's facilities are second to none, it is beautifully maintained by the owners and exceptional host's Alex & Alison Wright. Alex & Alison, are a gregarious welcoming couple who own this and other great properties in the commune of Cendrieux. If you are looking to stay in accommodation located within beautiful countryside surroundings, then we would whole heartedly recommend 'Le Monjat' without exception.

August 2017 Perfect holiday Gite Extremely well equipped and clean Gite. A very comfortable base to explore the area. Beautiful garden with views. Pool and hottub were really good. August 2017 A pleasant gite in lovely surroundings We had a really enjoyable stay here. The gite had everything you need and was clean and modern. The garden was lovely, very well maintained and a bench and little swing chair is provided for you to enjoy the gorgeous sunset which you can see every night. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the neighbouring town because Cendrieux is in a quiet area but there are loads of attractions nearby.

August 2017 Absolutely brilliant! We had an absolutely brilliant two weeks and feel so rested, it feels like we stayed for longer! The gite was perfect and there was nothing missing - we had everything we needed. The pool area is so clean and again has everything you could want. Alex and Alison and of course dear Nelly are wonderful hosts and nothing was too much trouble. We can't wait to return next year and booked before we left! We would highly recommend staying here to anyone looking for peace and quiet and plenty of relaxation in a beautiful part of France. Thank you for everything!!!

June 2017 Just wonderful! No expense spared If you've come as far as reading the reviews don't hesitate and book now, you will not be disappointed. Alison and Alex are wonderful hosts, they aren't at all imposing but are there if you need them. There are two gites, both have been furnished to an extremely high standard with everything you could possibly need. We felt very relaxed and it certainly felt like a home from home. The garden is beautiful and well maintained, plenty of shaded areas. The pool could not be better, it's clean, warm, a good size and the UVA/UVB cover is fantastic especially if you have a baby or young children. We had a fantastic holiday and really hope to return.

July 2016 Wonderful holiday What can I say about our stay with Alison and Alex !! From the moment we arrived until our very last evening, we were absolutely thrilled with everything from the pool to the sun deck. Having never before been to the Dordogne, we found A and A's knowledge of the area to be really helpful. We managed to eat at their favourite restaurant (twice) !! Having been on numerous gite holidays in rural France, I can honesty say that everything was perfect, even down to the oyster opener !! We ate and drank with A and A and have rarely felt so relaxed. Alex gave me advice on which lake to fish and where to fish and I managed 10 carp over the two weeks, with the biggest just under 30lb. I'm so glad I took my strong line. We will most certainly be returning to Le Monchat....if only to throw the ball for Nellie

May 2015 Another wonderful holiday at Le Monjat We have stayed at Le Monjat many times and it just gets better and better, we now refer to it as our second home! We spent three glorious weeks in Gite 1 in June. The accommodation and facilities are as described and maintained to a high standard. Having such friendly owners as Alex and Alison living (discreetly) onsite is a bonus and we spent many an enjoyable evening together sharing a bottle of wine. There is so much to see and do in the Dordogne area and too many lovely restaurants to mention and we are looking forward to our next visit to test the new and long awaited restaurant in Cendrieux. I would definitely recommend Le Monjat Gites for a memorable holiday.
