The Gîte

Private Gite rental you have exclusive use of the gite gardens and the pool area.

We have a separate entrance therefore social distancing can easily be maintained whilst you’re staying with us.

Very comfortable, well equipped self-catering accommodation, offering gite with en-suite facilities and luxury heated & covered pool situated to the north of Perigord Noir, the heart of the Dordogne.

Beautiful pool area with 11 x 5 metre covered (retractable cover) and heated pool and hot tub / jacuzzi set in established garden with many mature trees offering plenty of dappled shade. Stunning views from pool and terrace across rolling countryside.

As people who enjoy good food and cooking, we have provided everything we hope you would expect to find in a fully equipped fitted kitchen - full size cooker, microwave, large fridge + freezer, dishwasher, cook's knives, serving dishes, kettle, teapot, coffee maker & cafetiere and all cooking utensils. There is also a washing machine, iron & ironing board.

Nespresso Virtuo (large pods) coffee machine, milk frother.

Air fryer

Modern flat screen HD ready TVs, Satellite TV (with all English free to air channels), and DVD.

French TV available on request.

We now have WiFi everywhere and I mean everywhere....in the Gite, by the pool and all over the garden! You can surf the net in the sun or the shade, indoors or outside, drink in hand or with your feet in the pool. We also have a 4G mobile signal.

There are two mobile air conditioning units in the gîte. One on the ground floor, the other on the second floor.

Smoking - in the interests of safety and the comfort of fellow / subsequent guests, we kindly request that you refrain from smoking inside the gites.

Fire extinguisher & fire blanket in the kitchen. Smoke alarms fitted.

To minimise the amount of luggage you need to bring (especially for those flying) we provide all your linen.

All bed linen and towels are provided and included in the price, including pool towels. For 2 week bookings, a fresh set of linen and towels will be provided for week two.  

Please note we do not provide bed linen for the cot, as most parents seem to prefer to bring their own.

In addition to the air conditioning, fans are provided in each bedroom. 

Hairdryers are provided in each bedroom.

There are three mobile air conditioning units in the gite. One on each floor, in each of the bedrooms, the other in the living area

Outside

Heated pool - the pool is open from the beginning of our season and heated from the beginning of May. 11 x 5m. Large Roman steps provide easy access to the pool.

High quality retractable pool cover - swim indoors / outdoors.

4/5 seater hot tub / jacuzzi.

The pool cover conforms to all French pool security regulations, it is the guests responsibility to ensure the cover is closed when not in use.

Your safety remains your own responsibility and children must be supervised by an adult at all times.

Our pool is a traditional chlorinated pool, checked & maintained daily, to ensure bather comfort.

Please be aware that salt water swimming pools also contain chlorine, some people claim, that their salt systems are chlorine free, this is untrue. A well managed traditional chlorinated pool is no more or less "harsh" than a salt system swimming pool.

All pool maintenance is undertaken by Alex and Alison. You're on holiday - there's nothing for you to do unless you really want to.

Shaded parking.

Stunning views over rolling countryside from the gîte terrace and pool. Over 1/2 acre of established gardens for sole use by gîte guests, with many mature trees offering plenty of dappled shade.

Wide variety of fruit trees including cherry, plum, grape, apple, peach, fig and walnut. Guests are welcome to pick the fruit in season.
Some garden maintenance (yes grass cutting and watering) will be necessary during your stay - but we'll endeavour to do this whilst you are out and about.

We are surrounded by open fields and woods - excellent for an evening stroll or cycle. 

We have a selection of adult bikes - they are suitable for popping to the village to collect bread, but are not suitable for doing a stage of the "Tour de France". If you're a serious cyclist, we'd suggest you bring your own. We’re happy to provide storage in our garage.

We have badminton, boules, golf clubs, fishing gear. All free for you to use.

Sun loungers, table & chairs available by the pool, benches in the shade. Private terrace with BBQ (Charcoal), wooden table and chairs.
